What Are The Best Events Of 2015?

As it’s January, I’m taking a little time to try and plan my year. It’s a bit of a tricky endeavour, as despite it seeming to the casual observer that all I ever do is ride bikes, I do actually have a job. Or many jobs actually, so diary juggling can be fairly complex.

I also like to ride many kinds of bikes so it makes it even harder to squeeze everything in. So the point I’m slowly getting to, is I’d like to start putting a few events in my calendar but it’s hard to know where to begin. So I’m asking you, my blog-reading friends. What are the events that you think I need to attend? Whether they’re races, sportives, friendly gatherings, jams or anything that falls in between, and whether it’s for fixed gears, mountain bikes, road bikes or whatever.

Please send me a message or leave me a comment below. Thanks!

Ever thought about doing something like Paris-Brest-Paris? I think that would be pretty cool. And you should totally enter the Red Hook Crit if they have a dedicated women’s section. Or you and Dave could make your own event and do something like Land’s End to John O’Groats. Or go to France and do some of the climbs from the Tour, like the Tourmalet and Alpe d’Huez. This is starting to give me ideas…. ūüôā

Actually I hadn’t thought of Paris-Brest-Paris. It sounds pretty epic! And Red Hook Crit might be on the cards if I can get together enough money to go to them. Definitely some mountain passes are on the cards, but maybe in Italy as I go over there a lot to visit Met. Have you got anything in the diary yet?

Road cycling : The Ronde, L’Etape du Tour
Why not a Tour of Brittany (i can help with the road, living there). A short ferry trip to St Malo and there you are !

MTB : Transvésubienne (Nice, south of France), Epic Cymru (looks great with all those quality trails), TransProvence or Transcévennes. And why not some enduros in Brittany

if you choose to come and ride this part of France, let me know. I can help !

L’Etape entries are closed. Brittany, I hadn’t thought out but that might be nice for touring with tents – any excuse for camping!
The MTB ones sound interesting – i’m going to have a little look at your suggestions now. Thank you!
