On Saturday night, I went to a book launch at Treadwell’s, an awesome bookshop in Covent Garden crammed with books  featuring historical and esoteric themes.

The evening was to celebrate the publication of Kenneth Grant’s book ‘Outside the Circles Of Time’.

Grant is head of the Typhonian Ordo Templi Orientis and founder of the New Isis Lodge. A former friend of Aleister Crowley, he has written many books exploring occult beliefs. His first published writing was The Carfax Monographs, a series of ten essays  published between 1959 and 1963 which were designed to “elucidate the hidden lore of the West according to canons preserved in various esoteric orders and movements of recent times.” Despite having read several of Crowley’s books and a couple of biography’s of ‘The Great Beast’, I know next to nothing about this vast subject. I’ve yet to read one of Grant’s books. It’s certainly an interesting subject to dip into/discuss.

On Sunday, a couple of friends and I rode our bikes to Richmond Park. It is so much fun to do laps of the park, although a fixed gear bike is not ideal of the uphill sections. The downhill sections were pretty hilarious with my legs spinning super fast like little whirlwinds.

It was such a great day. We saw deer, ate scones, whizzed around. Richmond Park is so damn beautiful. If you’ve never been, you must go! Leave the city centre and have your spirits lifted!
