Out cycling yesterday I felt a teeny bit of anxiet

Out cycling yesterday I felt a teeny bit of anxiety about @theracearoundrwanda lurking in the shadows. It is my first proper ultra race!
So, I’ve making note of what qualifies me to do it. These are the things I’ll make sure to remember when I get imposter syndrome 🙈
I’ve done multi-day mountain bike and gravel stage races
I have an absolute TON of gravel riding experience
I’ve done overnight races and raced in the dark
I’ve ridden 333km in less than 24 hours (with one hour of sleep)
I’ve self-navigated off-road bikepacking events like Tuscany Trail and Bear Bones 200
I have years of training in my legs.
Fingers crossed that these experiences will help me through this big challenge. I can’t wait to see Rwanda from a bicycle!

Countdown to @theracearoundrwanda is on!
Just two weeks until I pack up the bike box and head to Africa for my first race of the season! Feel very excited and privileged to see Rwanda through the lens of a bike race; it’s going to be intense, beautiful, challenging and unforgettable. I’ll be racing as a pair with @this.is.juliana.v, who I met at @migrationgravelrace last year.

Came up with the idea today of trying and logging every single trackable activity on my @garminuk watch over 365 days. Any excuse to have some fun and possibly a chance to meet up with people and be shown some sports I’ve not tried before? I wonder which is the most ‘niche’ sport you can track on there?
