I’m off to San Francisco and Portland

Posy and I are off to San Francisco with our bikes in the morning and I can’t wait! Posy will be sticking around in SF for a week then flying home at which point I’m gonna head off the Portland. I’ve never been to either place and I can’t wait! There are a few record shops and burrito joints I want to check out plus some kinda crazy doughnut place in Portland that I’ve been told to go to but other than that, we’re just gonna play it by ear. SO EXCITED!!!

Got a sweet package of clothes from Carhartt for the trip too. Thanks guys! All in grey scale but let me tell ya that’s an improvement on my prior insistence on everything being black.  I used to dye my hair black too. Haha! Bloody goth!

I just shot next year’s Carhartt look book, partly in Basel and partly here in London with Sam Hart. Here’s one from the first set. Sam’s are being edited as we speak.

Head to Tartines bakery for the best lunch in SF – 600 GUERRERO STREET, CA 94110, on the corner of 18th St.

The pizzeria next door – Delfina serves the best Pizza outside of Italy that I have ever had.

hey we are having a race in stockton ca. (about 1 hour drive from sf or 4 hour ride if you take b.a.r.t to livermore and ride the rest) on oct, 24th at 3pm the meeting spot is billy hebert field in oak park . it is a paperboy race so you deliver newspapers as fast as you can and have as much fun as posible.we are having the race to donate the cash to catfish who had his bike stolen from the last race .It would be great if you could make it I can offer you a place to stay and people to ride with.stockton has way better taco truck than sf!I just saw a band you might like called bone dance from ohio check them out.

it is really great to see a female in this day and age trying to start something on her own ground and not work through the bullshit by reinforcing the “glass ceiling” with steel plates. keep doing what you are doing by delving into projects and showing people that women are of great value in this world and not just as objects of affection. I have seen a lot of people who ride track/fixed bikes say comments that are essentially extremely sexist. I hope you do not see comments on your look or your body influence what you do, because I can tell you have a great deal of intelligence and that is something this world needs, esp right now. I am not sure sexism is as bad as it is in America but if it is keep your head up and never let anyone treat you diff because you have a vagina. this sounds like 2nd to 3rd wave feminism but I just felt i should say something because i’ve been noticing a lot of SEXIST BULLSHIT arising in the track/fixed world in terms of unnecessary pictures of half naked women on bikes. what is the purpose of that? Why put a blog up having such pictures every week? why not make a blog that glorifies the many NYC Women who are amazing athletes on bikes? why do women always have to be in a position of halfnakedness to have any true value in bike riding?
