Hasn’t it been a lovely September? Lots of sun and warmth with just the first signs of Autumn arriving. Much as us Brits love to complain about the weather, I really enjoy the fact we have ‘proper’ seasons look forward to the change 🍁
I’m currently planning a little van/bike trip for mid October and considering the Lake District as I think it will be extra beautiful. Anyone got any recommendations of campsites, rides and nice pubs?

Last time I came to @tour_de_test_valley solo on my way to the British Gravel Championships. This year I’m here with the family and I couldn’t be happier! Such a good vibe, we’ll be back every year 😁
PS I won’t be competing in the gravel champs this year as I didn’t enjoy it last year. Each to their own but I didn’t enjoy the lack of technical fun stuff on the course last year 🤷‍♀️ Very grateful that my sponsors are happy for me to focus on the things I enjoy. After a great trip to the Peak District tomorrow we head to @tour_de_test_valley for the Family Sportive.
I’m an ambassador for @calmzone so alongside riding I’ll be helping raise awareness of their work and sharing my story on a panel talk in the afternoon. We’ll be talking about mental health, sports, coping mechanisms and reflecting on how the conversation around mental health has changed over the decade since our friend Nelson took his own life.
I’m so very glad that it’s somewhat more common to reflect upon and sometimes share your struggle than it was ‘back in the day’ but sadly many people do still suffer in silence.
I’d encourage anyone struggling to reach out to friends, family, @calmzone or myself directly. Or if you’ve an inkling someone you know is not doing so well, just send them a quick text, pop over or give them a bell. Sometimes such a simple act can make all the difference
