Cycling Touring In Japan – Women’s Cycling Magazine

Last year I wrote an article for Women’s Cycling magazine, and shortly after it appeared the publication folded. I very much hope it wasn’t so badly written that I helped propel it to its grave?

But joking aside, it was a shame to see the closure of a magazine dedicated to female riders, as Women’s Cycling took a friendly and non elitist tone that appealed to your everyday cyclist.

So assuming that you didn’t manage to grab a copy, here’s the article on cycling touring in Japan.

PS I am not guilty of writing that title!

Maybe the person responsible for the title is also responsible for the crash of the magazine ? (Tell me it’s not dave…)

Dave does love a dad joke! But no, seriously, publishing can be a tricky game – the ex-editor is fantastic. Sometimes things just don’t work out.

Just kidding, your trip to Japan along with the video “Summer in my shoes” are some of the most inspiring things I’ve seen in cycling on the web. Keep it fun.

Hello Juliet, could you give me a tip in buying a BMX. I’m on the market for a dirt bmx because they are building a trail near my house (No I’m not excited :-)))))) and because I’m 1,85m I was thinking of getting a 24′ wheels BMX. What do you think ? What are the specs of yours ? All my best.

Hello Damien! Have you ridden BMX before or are you just starting out? Some people find an MTB dirt jump bike is easier as it’s more stable..

But if it’s BMX you want, well some people do ride 24inch but my husband is the same height as you and he rides a regular BMX with a 21.5 inch top tube and 8inch rise bars. If that still feels too small, you could try some Perfect 10 bars, as they’re higher.

I’d say have a look at getting something second hand or just go for an off the peg complete.. Always worth speaking to a local BMX shop. Or try BMX-Forum.com

Hope this helps, and have fun!
